Life at SPC
All things bright and beautiful,
All creatures great and small,
All things wise and wonderful,
The Lord God made them all.
This sweet poem by Mrs. Cecil Frances Alexander was first published in her book Hymns for Little Children in 1848. It became a hymn and today is found in the hymnals of many Christian denominations. It is commonly sung to the hymn tune All Things Bright and Beautiful, composed by William Henry Monk in 1887. Another popular tune is Royal Oak, adapted from a 17th-century English folk tune, The 29th of May. [Courtesy Wikipedia]
James Herriot, a British veterinary surgeon and author, used some of the lines from this poem/hymn for the titles in a series of hugely popular books. The books have touched millions of hearts and have been made into films and television series.
On Sunday, November 17, we blessed our beloved animals, our fellow Earthlings, in church. We also took time to remember those pets who have passed on.

SUNDAY, November 12, immediately after the service, we hosted our annual brunch to support our children's mission projects. The SPC Mission Committee was thrilled to once again host our Desayuno Delicioso! Support SPC’s mission work for children in our community and around the world. Mission Committee member Virginia Flores-Hunter created the authentic Mexican menu and the Mission Committee cooked and serveed up this delicious brunch!
